Kids’ Scavenger hunt

Kids are definitely invited. We will be providing a fun scavenger hunt activity page for them so that they can stay engaged and participate in “seeing God” with you! There will be a prize for the child who gets the most questions answered correctly!

Neighborhood Prayer Stops

The following “Playlist” of Prayer stops is organized using the suggested route map below. You may, of course, go the opposite direction or chose a different route. All the addresses and videos with prayer prompts are provided below. At each stop, please find a safe space to park, play the video and spend some time praying for our neighbors.

Elizabeth House

760 Santa Barbara St, Pasadena, CA 91101

Pray:

  • For the many moms they serve who are experiencing tremendous stress in this time—because of lost jobs, domestic violence, children put in foster care, other reasons—and are being drastically stretched financially and emotionally.

  • For the physical and emotional health of staff as they try to stay healthy and follow numerous protocols to keep their services open and do what they can for their families.

  • For funding in this incredibly difficult year, as donations have fallen dramatically with so many unable to give financially as they have in the past.

Door of Hope

669 N Los Robles Ave, Pasadena, CA 91101

Pray:

  • That they’ll be successful in helping the homeless families they house overcome the practical, economic, and emotional barriers they face so they can transition into permanent housing.

  • That their new homelessness prevention program will effectively help many families on the verge of homelessness, empowering them in all ways to keep their housing.

  • That their new, fourth shelter will succeed in serving its eight families well in every way.

Friends In Deed

444 E Washington Blvd, Pasadena, CA 91104

Pray:

  • For the more than 400 families coming each week to their food pantry because of economic and job loss, that they would get the food they need and find new jobs to sustain them.

  • For the Friends in Deed staff and volunteers who are working hard to care for the most vulnerable, that they would have sufficient strength and health as they give of themselves.

  • For those who are homeless and living on the streets during this time when the Bad Weather Shelter cannot be open—that they would get the supplies, support, and shelter they need.

La Pintoresca Park

Corner of Washington Blvd and Fair Oaks Ave

Pray:

  • For the family and friends of Anthony McClain as they continue to mourn his tragic death, that they would feel God’s presence and comfort in the midst of their pain.

  • That out of this tragedy hope would emerge—that new life, new possibilities, new joy, new leaders, and new believers would rise up and help bring transformation to this community.

  • That God would give us his eyes that we may see what human eyes cannot; his heart so we may love in ways we didn’t think possible; his hands so we may do works of justice that will bear witness to his power and bring glory to his name.

Pasadena Community Job Center

500 N Lake Ave, Pasadena, CA 91101

Pray:

  • For the day laborers who aren’t getting enough work to support themselves, especially those who can’t pay their rent—or their phone bill, so they don’t hear about job opportunities.

  • That the center will get the financial and food donations they need to do their important work of supporting these day laborers who are struggling so much.

  • For their clinic that is offering free COVID testing, flu vaccines, blood sugar level checks, eye exams, and more—that it will thrive and serve those who most need it.

Club 21

847 Santa Barbara St, Pasadena, CA 91101

Pray:

  • For the Litteken family—Nancy, Molly, and Matt—as they mourn and navigate life after the passing of dad and husband Mike last year. Pray especially for Molly, their daughter with Down syndrome, and for wisdom and energy for Nancy.

  • That as they seek to fill three upcoming job openings—finance, event manager, diversity outreach coordinator—they will find individuals with strong skills as well as good chemistry with other staff.

  • That they will be successful in serving their families virtually and get the funding they need to thrive in their work.
